The Kimpton Mirador is a modern, Spanish Revival boutique hotel, inspired by nature to provide a sense of tranquil relaxation. LUMA's balanced lighting approach embraces natural daylight to bring the feeling of nature inside. Layered lighting elements work together to create a rich and captivating atmosphere, prioritizing both functionality and aesthetics.
LUMA also designed the lighting for the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Caledonian. Strategically placed spotlights softly highlight plants suspended in the center of the restaurant and draws guests to the luminous bar at the back. LUMA collaborated closely with the design team to create a sense of lightness and translucence for the bar to be a central lantern and gathering place. As light levels are reduced, the color temperature adjusts to a warm and cozy glow, replicating the transition of daylight into the evening and recreating the look of candlelight. Decorative lighting provides an ambient glow and visual interest while spotlights on dining tables ensure every dish is a visual delight.
