For its headquarters, Tommy Bahama charged designers with creating modern high-performance workspaces that still reflected a laid-back culture. The four floors of workspace are organized around central boardwalks, offering numerous display and collaboration opportunities. Project accent lighting was intentionally selected from a kit of luminaires used in Tommy Bahama retail stores. This allowed designers to see textiles as customers do, which simplified procurement and stretched tight budgets. We lit the casual collaboration areas with custom pendants that emphasize simple design and punctuate the boardwalks. The lighting track allows for updating accent heads as LED sources evolve.
