Among the coolest place to get a drink in the city, this new 9,000 square-foot lounge and bar is located on the top floor of the Nines Hotel in the Historic Meier & Frank building in downtown Portland. During the day the space is almost completely daylit by a custom skylight. At night, the space transforms into an intimate lounge with the use of subtle colored light, shadowed spaces, mirrors, textured drapery and highly reflective surfaces. The lighting design enhances the intimacy of the perimeter spaces and keeps the view of the city from the windows and patios a prominent feature through the use of lower light levels and balanced interior to exterior illumination.
