Solid state (LED) lighting was incorporated into the handrails of the new pedestrian bridge on the Reed College Campus. Light was confined to the bridge deck and railings which appear to float across an environmental zone below. The warm amber color was chosen to differentiate the new bridge from the existing "blue" bridge to the east.
