- The signature element of the Portland International Airport is the stunning 2.7-acre glass canopy that connects the terminal to the parking structure.
- Our challenge was to present a bright, inviting environment to the traveler while meeting budget, energy, maintenance, and FAA-imposed control-tower glare requirements. These restrictions encouraged clarity in design.
- Our solution consisted of expressing the 12-foot deep trusses of the canopy structure, celebrating the truss springpoints, and illuminating the roadway below.
