Luma Lighting Design announces the retirement of Mark Ramsby, IALD, LEED AP.
Mark Ramsby, founder and Director of Design for Luma Lighting Design passed the Design Director beacon to Zachary Suchara, AIA earlier this year and officially retired on October first.
Have you ever walked or driven under the iconic PDX airport canopy? Strolled hand in hand with your sweetheart down 6th street and admired Portland's Pioneer Courthouse at night? Had a drink or six at the Departure Lounge on top of the old Meier and Frank building? Crammed for an exam at the OSU Valley Library? Your experience in all of these spaces was shaped by Mark's thoughtful and inspirational integration of light and architecture. With a career in lighting design spanning over three decades, millions of square feet of built environment and collaboration with some of the most creative minds in the design community. Mark leaves behind an indelible impression on the architectural and lighting design community.
A designer never stops designing; they simply shift their focus. Mark plans to stay busy launching his new handmade canoe, skiing the back country of the Canadian Rockies, attending the Ashland Shakespeare Festival and generally doing the things we all want to do when we grow up. Luma Lighting Design and PAE Consulting Engineers wish Mark the very best. Good luck and visit us often.
